Network Core Mechanisms of Exponence

Inkelas, Sharon and Zoll, Cheryl (2007)

Abstract

This paper argues that cophonologies are better than indexed constraints at capturing morpheme-specific phonological behaviour. Inkelas and Zoll refute the claim that indexation may be limited to input-output faithfulness constraints, with a single markedness hierarchy being valid for all morphemes in a language.
