Network Core Mechanisms of Exponence

Fitzpatrick Cole, Jennifer (1994)

Abstract

This dissertation argues in detail, using mainly data illustrating word and phrasal reduplication processes in Bengali, that the Base for reduplication in some languages is a morpho-prosodic constituent (prosodic stem, etc.), rather than a morpho-syntactic constituent. Several case studies, including analyses of infixing and exfixing reduplication, are presented in support of this proposal.
