Network Core Mechanisms of Exponence

Embick, David (2003)

Abstract

In this article Embick suggests that vocabulary insertion in DM proceeds in two cycles: a root cycle (an item directly attached to the root) and an outer cycle (items which are not directly attached to the root). Allomorphy arises because there are distinct lists of vocabulary items for the two cycles.
