Network Core Mechanisms of Exponence

Caballero, Gabriela (2010)

Abstract

Caballero observes that realizational theories of exponence which assign inflection and derivation to different modules of the grammar implicitly assume that multiple exponence should be restricted to inflectional morphology. In contrast to this prediction she shows in detail that the Uto-Aztecan language Rarámuri exhibits multiple exponence for derivational categories.
